LATTEN, 2019
Plexiglass case 100 x 5 x 1 cm, wood 0,9 x 0,5 x 0,3 cm laser-cut pieces
97 years later, 3 artists and an architect puzzled their brains over Marcel Breuer’s “Lattenstuhl”. Basically all they did was to turn the chair into a scaled, hands on construction game with unique wood joints, keeping the minimal and industrial aesthetics of Bauhaus.
Under a contemporary point of view, “Latten” is a single line broken into pieces and then assembled horizontally and vertically. The final result is the creation of a puzzle.
The project is a collaboration of Chloe Pare with Timothy Laskaratos, Anna-Maria Lioga and Marina Papadaki, during “Bauhaus Meets Commons” workshop in LUDD Makerspace and Goethe-Institut Athen.
